So I ran my very own 5km today around the neighbourhood.

such a good sight,
where some things are meant to be admired and not to be captured..

The Heart

You can be in solitude, but not feel lonely. You can be in a relationship/have many friends, and still feel lonely. Perhaps loneliness is not a matter of your environment, but a condition of your heart.

Deaf 2

Imagine with me you’ve just had a brand-new baby, it’s a boy congratulations!

Now imagine with me that he has been born deaf.

What would you do?

I mean obviously you will never be able to speak to him, so what’s the point in ever communicating with him? Why bother trying, right?

Of course this would be a horrendous way to think.

Any good parent would do anything to speak to their child.

I would do everything in my power to make sure that I could communicate my love for that child and have as close a relationship as possible. I would learn sign language and spend months teaching my child how to understand me, I would be willing to spend thousands upon thousands on expensive medical procedures and hearing aids.

Think about it with me, no good parent would leave their child unable to communicate with them.

So why on Earth do we think God would do that to us. Not only is He so much better than any parent on this planet, but He is also so much more able to help us hear Him.

If this thought has ever crossed your mind, I want to encourage you... it's not the truth! It's a lie!

Not only is God speaking to you, but it’s easy for you to hear Him! He wants that more than anything. Even more than you do.

The only thing wrong with us in this area is the perspective we choose that says it's hard to hear God and that’s very easy for us to change.

Deaf

So many people think that God does not speak to them.

Or maybe they do believe that God would speak to them, but they believe that they themselves are incapable of hearing Him.

I used to think I was spiritually deaf, I believed that God would speak to me but I just didn’t trust that I was able to hear his voice. There was something spiritually wrong with me. I had a spiritual hearing impairment.

I don’t know about you, but I know for me this was a really big deal. I also know that many people out there sincerely believe this about themselves. The truth of course, is that this is a ridiculous way to think.

Flats Over Heels

Hey ladies! Let’s be honest. There’s no denying that wearing heels would help boost our confidence. They make us look elegant, sexy, and stylish too. But at the end of the day, who’s to suffer?

Our poor sore feet.

Well, no worries! We have other options, like instead of choosing the simple plain flip flops as an alternative, we can opt for a more trendy choice of shoes which is flats. Flats don’t only give us the utmost comfort but they also offer good foot protection as well as style!

She happens to wear them A LOT! Like ALL the time.

Okay, back to the point. The first way you can wear flats is by matching it with a basic tee and jeans. Look at Taylor. She’s casual and still looks gorgeous! Bet there isn’t any feeling of foot discomfort.

On a side note, flats may not be sexy (although there are some pretty gorgeous pairs), but they're practical! You can do anything while wearing them.

Secondly, I've always preferred being comfortable. Like walking about the city, so flats are much more suitable and I don't get sore feet.

The next look, you can wear your flats by complementing it with a dress. This look is perfect for us ladies who wants to have that sweet feminine look with a slight hint of innocence while we’re out for an outing or, shopping!

Also, we can maintain a modest look while maintaining our stylish outfit appearance. The look will surely give us women a soft elegant character too.

Lastly, we can look fabulous with a pair of flat shoes with shorts. Why not flaunt your style during the weekend lunch with your girls or at the park and feel confident with your flat shoes selection. Valuable?

Question : Are you valuable?

Some days I like him. Most days I hate him. But I do have to admit, he's honest. He'll always tell me if I have food in my teeth or a booger in my nose. He isn't afraid to let me know if a certain shirt is too tight or if a color doesn't complement my skin. I appreciate the honesty, but he is deceiving all the time. Deceiving because anytime he tells me, "Just get this cute shirt and feel better about yourself" or "Just lose 5kgs and be forever happy," it doesn't work. I'm never good enough for him.

I try not to hang out with him too much, or else I can easily fall into his trap of discouragement - "Jane, I see that cellulite back there. Your skin is looking pretty oily these days. Those pimples! Get rid of them!" I try to block out his lies that tell me I'm not good enough, that I'm not beautiful, but it's hard.

I'm sure you've met him. He tends to pop up in all sorts of places, bathrooms, cars, department stores, gyms. And I'm sure you've felt some of the insecurities when standing in front of him.

His name?

Mirror.

Private?

It somehow hit me that I regretted on not writing for so long.

Some eventful or not so eventful moments just slipped off my mind..
Don't know if it's a good thing or not, but as I was looking back to the older posts..
Boy I'm glad that all those events have helped me grow..
  
And as of today, I shall be discipline and start writing again, *please remind me*
hopefully in the future when I grow all old, wrinkly and forgetful I still have all these to entertain myself with, and to laugh about ;)

Alright, what stayed in my mind up till now was this statement from Hui Ee,
"If you ever felt lost, ask yourself again why you're in radio."

A very good reminder for myself..

How strong are you?

Someone once said that people are like tea bags. You have to put them into hot water before you can know how strong they are.

What a great truth! We believe we are strong and able to deal with any situation. But it is not until we face difficulty that we know the truth.

We can worry about the future and its trials, or we can trust in the great promise the Lord has left us in His Word: "We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28).

It is interesting that the verse says "in all things" and not just "in some things." That is, even in those difficult moments when we are in the hot water being tested by the difficulties and challenges of life (things we don't understand), all will end if we trust in the Lord. That's why we need to always give Him thanks, not only in our victories, but also in adversity - not because the Lord is happy with our trials, but because we know that through them our character will be refined and we will be a little more like Him.

Stay Strong.

Dear believer, do you understand that God may take away your privileges and comforts in order to make u stronger? Do u see why The Lord always trains His soldiers not by allowing them to lie on beds of ease but by calling them to difficult marches and service? He makes them wade through streams, swim across rivers and walk many long marches carrying heavy backpacks of sorrow. This is how he develops soldiers - not by dressing them up in fine uniforms to strut at gates of the barracks or appear as handsome gentleman. 

No, God knows that soldiers can only be made in battle and are not developed in times of peace. "

Friends

Overheard this phrase few days ago while walking: "Friends are diamonds/gold"  *Reflected*

 And thought - Maybe it's more accurate to see friends as diamonds-in-the-making, refining-gold in the furnace instead; because being a friend is not just looking at someone in a certain loving treasuring way, but to be a part of the process of the refining, the critiquing, the moulding, the nudging - it takes courage/boldness to surface honest, hard truths, it takes commitment to walk with someone through it, it takes love to keep the interest of the other at heart at all times, it takes prayer and discipline to work through what part you are to play in his/her life...

I'm back from Budapest!
There's so many things to Thank God for!
- A soul being saved!
- Everything went well as planned, Thank God!
- Long lost letter finally received 
- now just hoping that the Greece & Budapest postcards reach its rightful owners

Though it wasn't that easy to come in back into the UK..
But here I am!

Next: Berlin & York!
